2013 5K & Street Fair

The 2013 Highland Park Run in the Park 5K Run/Walk & Street Fair turned out to be a cloudy, rain-filled day but it did not stop residents from coming out and enjoying the two events within the Borough.

Highland Park Volunteer Fire Department assisted with the 5K Run/Walk race by maintaining safety, blocking roads from vehicular traffic & cheering on runners and walkers. Engines 1, 2 & 4, along with Truck 3 and Chief Vehicles 105, 107 & 110 left Highland Park Station 37 with full crews to assist along the race route.

For the Street Fair, HPVFD positioned itself at Raritan & 5th Avenue with Engine 1, Engine 4 & Truck 3 on Display. Chief Vehicles 105, 107 & 110 were also at the Street Fair to assist with supplies & transport of Firefighters. Throughout the day HPVFD members displayed the different pieces of apparatus, discussed fire safety & engaged with residents. T-Shirts & Mugs were sold, and donations were accepted throughout the day to support the Fire Department.
