Members of the Highland Park Volunteer Fire Department came together Tuesday, August 27, 2013 to train on incident command and drill with rolling response scenarios.
After an overview of the Incident Command System members were split up in to two teams – an Engine Crew & a Truck crew. Three different scenarios were presented and each featured a different Incident Commander (IC) that was a newer or younger firefighter. Each scenario was made as real as possible – use of communications equipment, full gear including SCBA (air masks), flowing water and even administering CPR to an unresponsive victim. After each scenario a full critique with all members went over what worked, what didn’t and how we could all improve.
