Sparky was the big hit again as Highland Park Volunteer Fire Department visiting schools for Fire Prevention Week 2014. The theme of Fire Prevention week is “Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives” and that message was delivered to students & staff.  HPVFD Firefighters discussed smoke alarms, testing the alarms, what to do if an emergency occurs, displayed firefighter gear and how we put on our gear, displayed engines & equipment and brought Sparky along for hugs & high-fives.

Thank you to all the school, the teachers and staff who helped and put on gear and all the students for their enthusiasm & response.
