An early morning fire on Benner Street was put out by Highland Park Volunteer Fire Department on Thursday, May 9, 2013. The fire was reported by the residents just after Midnight. Engine 4, Engine 1 & Truck 3 responded with mutual aid provided by East Franklin, River Road, North Stelton & Metuchen. 31 Firefighters in all were on scene.
Highland Park First Aid Squad assisted providing rehab/relief & support, along with Highland Park Police & Middlesex County OEM. All residents of the house were able to escape safely and all firefighters on scene were safe & accounted for after the fire was extinguished.
